Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Delphacidae. Transmitted in a persistent manner. Virus retained when the vector
moults; multiplies in the vector; not transmitted congenitally to the progeny of
the vector; does not require a helper virus for vector transmission (1/1);
transmitted by mechanical inoculation (1), or not transmitted by mechanical
inoculation (1); not transmitted by grafting (1/1); not transmitted by contact
between plants; not transmitted by seed; not transmitted by pollen.
Experimental host range

Physical and
biochemical properties
Properties of particles in sap
TIP:
70-75-80 °C. LIV: 3 days. DEP: log10 minus 6-7 (1/1). Leaf sap contains few
virions, or contains many virions (1).
Particle morphology
Virions isometric; not enveloped;
65-72.5-80 nm in diameter; angular in profile; with a conspicuous capsomere
arrangement (1), or without a conspicuous capsomere arrangement (1).
Physical properties
One sedimenting component in purified
preparations (1), or two sedimenting components in purified preparations (1).
A260/A280 ratio 1.8.
Biochemical properties
Genome consists of RNA;
double-stranded; linear (1/1). Total genome size 26.64-26.65-26.66 kb. Genome
of 10 parts; largest (or only) genome part 3.85-3.875-3.9 kb; the 2nd largest
3.82-3.86-3.9 kb; the 3rd largest 3.8 kb; the 4th largest 3.7-3.75-3.8 kb; the
5th largest 2.7-2.725-2.75 kb; the 6th largest and other parts 2.3-2.45-2.6 kb.
Additional factor required for infectivity (1/1).
Features of the genome
Non-genomic nucleic acid
not found in the virions (1/1).
Features of proteins
Virion protein(s) six (1), or 8
(1); Mr 124900-125900-126900. Mr of 2nd largest
97000-109900-122900. Mr of 3rd largest 66000-84500-102900.
Mr of 4th largest 63000-63500-64000. Mr of 5th largest
48000-49000-50000. Mr of 6th largest and smaller, 34000-38500-43000.
Replication
Genome replicates in cytoplasmic viroplasms
(1/1). Replication does not depend on a helper virus (1/1).
Cytopathology
Virions found in cytoplasm (1/1).
Inclusions present in infected cells; are viroplasms; they contain virions.
