Natural host range and symptoms
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Aphididae (4), or an unusual insect group (1). Transmitted in a
semi-persistent manner (1), or in a persistent manner. Virus retained when
the vector moults (4/4); does not multiply in the vector (1/1); not transmitted
congenitally to the progeny of the vector (2/2); not transmitted by mechanical
inoculation; transmitted by grafting (2/3), or not transmitted by grafting
(1/3); not transmitted by contact between plants (2/2); not transmitted by seed
(2/2); not transmitted by pollen (2/2).
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible
(4/4).

Physical and
biochemical properties
Properties of particles in sap
Leaf sap
contains few virions (3/4), or contains many virions (1/4).
Particle morphology
Virions isometric; not enveloped
(4/4); 17-20.2-26 nm in diameter; rounded in profile (1), or angular in profile
(4); without a conspicuous capsomere arrangement.
Physical properties
One sedimenting component in purified
preparations (2/2). Density 1.34 g cm-3 in CsCl. A260/A280 ratio
1.35-1.375-1.4.
Biochemical properties
Virions contain 16-16.5-17 %
nucleic acid; 83-83.5-84 % protein.
Genome consists of DNA (4/4); single-stranded (4/4); circular (4/4).
Total genome size 1.29-2.325-3.36 kb. Genome unipartite (1/4), or of three parts
(1/4), or of 7 parts (2/4); largest (or only) genome part 0.89-1.147-1.3 kb; the
2nd largest 0.88-1.09-1.3 kb; the 3rd largest 0.88-1.025-1.171 kb; the 4th
largest 0.87 kb. Poly A region present (1/1).
Features of proteins
Virion protein(s) one (3/3);
Mr 19000-20330-22000.
Cytopathology
Virions found in cytoplasm (1/1), or in
cell vacuoles (1/1). Inclusions absent from infected cells (2/2).
