Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Cicadellidae (1), or Membracidae (1). Transmitted in a semi-persistent manner
(1), or in a persistent manner (1). Virus retained when the vector moults; does
not multiply in the vector (1/1); not transmitted congenitally to the progeny of
the vector (1/1); not transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by
grafting (1/1); not transmitted by seed.
Experimental host range
Many (>9) families susceptible
(1), or several (3-9) families susceptible (1).

Physical and
biochemical properties
Properties of particles in sap
TIP: 80
°C. LIV: 8 days. DEP: log10 minus 3 (1/1). Leaf sap contains few virions
(1/1).
Particle morphology
Virions geminate; not enveloped;
18-20-22 nm in diameter; rounded in profile (1/1).
Physical properties
One sedimenting component in purified
preparations (1/1), or two sedimenting components in purified preparations
(1/1); sedimentation coefficient 82 S; of the other(s) 55-70.5-86
S.
Biochemical properties
Genome consists of DNA;
single-stranded; circular. Total genome size 2.8 kb. Genome unipartite (1/1);
largest (or only) genome part 2.8 kb.
Cytopathology
Virions found in nuclei. Inclusions present
in infected cells (1/1); are viroplasms (1/1), or unusual in shape (1/1); they
contain virions (1/1).
