Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Brassica campestris ssp. napus and ssp. rapa; from
Scotland, U.K.; by Blencowe and Broadbent, 1957.
Natural host range and symptoms
- Brassica
campestris ssp. napus - chlorotic vein-banding and severe
stunting.
- Brassica campestris ssp. rapa - necrosis of
veins, leaf distortion and severe stunting ("rosetting").
Transmission
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical distribution
Experimental host range
Several (3-9) families
susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and
symptoms
Brassica campestris ssp. napus and ssp.
rapa - local chlorotic or necrotic lesions; systemic necrosis of veins
and petioles, severe stunting. - Brassica campestris ssp.
pekinensis - local necrotic and/or chlorotic lesions; occasional
systemic veinal necrosis and leaf distortion.
Diagnostically
insusceptible host species
