Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Rubus parviflorus; from British Columbia, Canada; by Stace-Smith
(1958).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Rubus parviflorus - irregular leaf ringspotting and oak leaf
patterns.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Macrosiphum (Oestlundia) davidsonii, M.(O.) maxima and Amphorophora
parviflori; Aphididae. Not transmitted by Amphorophora agathonica.
Virus not transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not
transmitted by contact between plants; not transmitted by seed; not transmitted
by pollen.
Geographical distribution
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Experimentally infected plants mostly show ringspots and oak leaf markings.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Rubus parviflorus - ringspot and oak leaf markings.
- Rubus idaeus - faint chlorotic markings.
- R.
occidentalis - diffuse mottle.
- R. henryi - chlorotic leaf
spots.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
all
herbaceous hosts tested were insusceptible including Chenopodium quinoa,
Cucumis sativus, Nicotiana tabacum, Vigna unguiculata ssp.
unguiculata, Phaseolus vulgaris.
Maintenance and
