Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Glycine max; from Phitsanulok, Thailand; by Iwaki et al.
(1983).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Glycine max - leaf deformation and leaf vein enations.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Bemisia tabaci; Aleyrodidae. Transmitted in a persistent manner. Virus
not transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not
transmitted by seed.
Geographical distribution
Experimental host range
Several (3-9) families
susceptible. Experimentally infected plants mostly show vein-clearing, leaf
mottling, vein-enations.
Diagnostically susceptible host
species and symptoms
- Cassia tora, Datura stramonium, Glycine
max, Lycopersicon esculentum, Nicotiana clevelandii, N. debneyi, N. glutinosa,
N. tabacum, Petunia × hybrida, Phaseolus vulgaris cv. Top Crop, Zinnia
elegans - systemic vein-clearing followed by leaf curling and crinkling.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
Arachis
hypogaea, Brassica campestris ssp. rapa, Chenopodium quinoa, Cucumis
sativus, Phaseolus lunatus, Vigna unguiculata, V. unguiculata ssp.
sesquipedalis.
Maintenance and propagation hosts
Assay hosts (Local lesions or
Whole plants)
Nicotiana tabacum (W),
Lycopersicon esculentum (W), Petunia × hybrida (W), Datura
stramonium (W), Phaseolus vulgaris (W).

Physical and
biochemical properties
Properties of particles in sap
Leaf sap
contains few virions.
Particle morphology
Virions possibly geminate; not
enveloped.
Cytopathology
Virions found in phloem; in nuclei.
Inclusions present in infected cells; are crystals in the nucleus and amorphous
X-bodies; they contain virions.
