First reported
in Physalis floridana; from Canada; by MacKinnon and Lawson (1966).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Brassica
campestris ssp. rapa - symptomless infection, even in complex with
physalis blotch virus.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Acyrthosiphon (Aulocorthum) solani, Myzus persicae; Aphididae. Not
transmitted by Aphis nasturtii, Macrosiphum euphorbiae, Myzus (Sciamyzus)
ascalonicus. Transmitted in a persistent manner.

distribution
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Physalis floridana - systemic mild leaf chlorosis;
conspicuous chlorotic vein-netting leaf symptoms when present in complex with
physalis vein blotch virus.
- Raphanus sativus, Nicandra physalodes
- slight chlorosis of systemically infected leaves.
- Gomphrena globosa,
Beta vulgaris, Spinacia oleracea, Brassica campestris ssp. napus, B.
campestris ssp. rapa, Datura bernhardii - symptomless systemic
infection.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
Chenopodium album, Capsicum annuum, Datura metel, D. stramonium, Petunia ×
hybrida and Solanum tuberosum.
