Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Vigna radiata; from Delhi, India; by Nariani (1960).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Vigna mungo, V. radiata - faint yellow specks or spots and
irregular blotching of tip leaves; slight leaf malformation.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Bemisia tabaci; Aleyrodidae. Transmitted in a non-persistent manner.
Virus not transmitted by mechanical inoculation; not transmitted by seed; not
transmitted by pollen.
Ecology and control
Studies reported
by two recessive genes for resistance identified in mungbean.
Geographical distribution
Spreads in Bangladesh, India,
Pakistan, and the Philippines.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
