in Medicago sativa; from France; by Alliot et al. (1972); Leclant
et al. (1973).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Medicago sativa, Vicia faba - enations on main leaf veins.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Aphis
craccivora; Aphididae. Transmitted in a persistent manner. Virus transmitted
by grafting; not transmitted by seed; not transmitted by pollen.
Geographical distribution
Spreads in France (the south and
the Mediterranean). Found, but with no evidence of spread, in Morocco, Spain,
Italy, Yugoslavia, Romania.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Vicia faba - stem enations.

Particle morphology
Virions rhabdo- or
bullet-shaped; enveloped; of 250 nm; 82-89 nm wide.
Cytopathology
Virions found in phloem; in the perinuclear
space. Inclusions absent from infected cells.
