Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Cyamopsis tetragonoloba; from Lucknow, India; by Verma et al.
(1962).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Cyamopsis tetragonoloba - chlorotic leaf mottling and
yellowing, chlorotic depressions then systemic necrosis and bronzing killing
plant.
Transmission
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical distribution
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Glycine max - systemic necrosis, starting at tips and
margins of leaves and spreading to whole plant.
- Phaseolus vulgaris
- systemic chlorotic mottling and stippling.
- Vigna radiata -
systemic leaf curling and tip necrosis.
- V. unguiculata - chlorotic
local lesions.
- Datura stramonium - chlorotic mottling, leaves
leathery and rough.
- Nicotiana tabacum cv. White Burley - systemic
mosaic.
- Petunia × hybrida - slight mottle.
- Solanum
nigrum - systemic mosaic, mottle.
Maintenance and propagation
