Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Fragaria chiloensis; from the USDA National Germplasm Repository,
Corvallis, Oregon in strawberry plants collected in Chile; by Spiegel et
al. (1993).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Fragaria
chiloensis and Fragaria sp. - symptomless.
Transmission
Transmitted by means not involving a vector.
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not
transmitted by contact between plants; transmitted by seed (30-50% in
Fragaria chiloensis).

Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Chenopodium amaranticolor, C. quinoa, Cucumis sativus -
systemic mottle, chlorotic patches and stunting.

stramonium, Nicotiana (several species) and Phaseolus vulgaris.

Virions isometric; 21.4 nm in
diameter (18.0 - 24.3 nm); 54.5 nm in length (maximum).

single-stranded; of four parts; largest (or only) genome part 3.7 kb; the 2nd
largest 2.65 kb; the 3rd largest 2.6 kb; the 4th largest 1.2 kb.
