Nomenclature
Synonyms
probably dock mosaic virus (Grainger and
Cockerham, 1930); dock mosaic viruses reported in the U.S.A. (Fernow, 1948) and
New Zealand (Chamberlain and Matthews, 1948) could also be synonyms, but tests
of possible affinity have not been made).

Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Rumex spp.; from Hungary; by Juretic et al. (1976).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Rumex spp. - chlorotic mottling of leaves.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Myzus
persicae; Aphididae. Transmitted in a non-persistent manner. Virus
transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical
distribution
Spreads in Hungary, New Zealand, and the UK (possibly).
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Rumex conglomeratus, R. obtusifolius, R. patientia, R.
pulcher - leaf mosaic.
Diagnostically insusceptible host
species
Chenopodium amaranticolor, C. quinoa, Nicotiana
megalosiphon, N. tabacum.
