First reported
in Digitaria didactyla; from Queensland, Australia; by Greber (1989).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Digitaria
didactyla - striate mosaic.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Nesoclutha pallida; Cicadellidae. Not transmitted by Cicadulina
bimaculata. Transmitted in a persistent manner. Virus not transmitted by
mechanical inoculation.
Geographical distribution
Geographical distribution probably restricted. Spreads in Australia.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Experimentally infected plants mostly show Striate mosaic.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Leptochloa filiformis, Triticum aestivum
- leaf streaking.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
Bromus catharticus, Digitaria ciliaris, Lolium multiflorum,
Paspalum dilatatum.
Maintenance and propagation hosts
Triticum aestivum cv. Gatcher.
Assay hosts (Local lesions or Whole plants)

digitaria streak, wheat dwarf, maize streak, panicum streak and sugarcane streak
very distantly.
