Natural host range and symptoms

• Solanum jasminoides - symptoms unknown all the naturally infected plants examined also contained potato Y and tobacco wilt viruses.

Transmission

Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.

Geographical distribution

Spreads in India.

Experimental host range

Several (3-9) families susceptible.

Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms

• Nicotiana tabacum - vein banding and mosaic.
• Nicotiana glutinosa - mottling.
• Datura tatula - local lesions and necrosis.
• Solanum jasminoides - mottling.

Solanum tuberosum, Cucumis sativus, Phaseolus vulgaris, Gomphrena globosa.

Properties of particles in sap

TIP: 60-65 °C. LIV: 8-12 days. DEP: log₁₀ minus 4. Leaf sap contains few virions.

Particle morphology

Virions filamentous; not enveloped; usually flexuous; with a clear modal length; of 750 nm. Axial canal obscure. Basic helix obscure.
