Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Clitoria ternatea; from Lucknow, India; by Srivastava and Singh
(1978).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Clitoria ternatea, Crotalaria spectabilis - systemic mosaic.
Transmission
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation;
transmitted by grafting; not transmitted by seed.
Geographical
distribution
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Experimentally infected plants mostly show necrotic lesions, systemic mosaic or
veinal necrosis.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and
symptoms
- Chenopodium amaranticolor - necrotic local
lesions.
- Crotalaria spectabilis - systemic mosaic.
- Vigna
unguiculata - necrotic local lesions, systemic veinal necrosis.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
Cucumis
sativus, Arachis hypogaea, Datura stramonium, Nicotiana glutinosa.
Maintenance and propagation hosts
Assay hosts (Local lesions or Whole plants)
Chenopodium amaranticolor (L).
