First reported
in Cichorium intybus; from the former Czechoslovakia; by Kvicala
(1956).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Cichorium intybus - vein-clearing, yellow flecks, necrosis
and leaf distortion.
Transmission
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical distribution
Found, but with no evidence of
spread, in Czechoslovakia.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Beta vulgaris, Chenopodium giganteum, C. quinoa, Gomphrena
globosa - local lesions; no systemic infection.
- Cichorium
intybus - conspicuous leaf chlorosis.

sativus.
