in Apium graveolens; from the U.K.; by Hollings (1964).
Natural host range and symptoms
Symptoms persist.
- Apium graveolens - yellow flecking and vein banding, leaves
malformed.
Transmission
Not transmitted by Myzus persicae.
Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not
transmitted by seed.
Geographical distribution
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Apium graveolens - yellow vein-netting vein-banding,
necrotic spotting and malformation.
- Petroselinum crispum - green
systemic spotting then chlorotic or necrotic spots and rings.
- Daucus
carota, Apium repens - transient spots or systemic yellow-netting.
Diagnostically insusceptible host species
Chenopodium
amaranticolor, Cucumis sativus, Nicotiana tabacum, Petunia × hybrida, Vigna
unguiculata.
Maintenance and propagation hosts
