Natural host range and symptoms

• Canavalia maritima - mosaic, mottling, vein banding and leaf malformation.

Transmission

Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Aphis craccivora, A. gossypii, Myzus persicae; Aphididae. Not transmitted by Dactynotus ambrosiae. Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.

Geographical distribution

Spreads in Puerto Rico.

Experimental host range

Few (<3) families susceptible. Experimentally infected plants mostly show mosaic.

• Canavalia maritima - systemic mosaic, mottling and leaf malformation.

Virions found in all parts of the host plant; in cytoplasm. Inclusions present in infected cells; are pinwheels.
