Properties of particles in sap
Particle morphology
Virions rod-shaped; usually
straight; with a clear modal length; of 250 nm; 17 nm wide. Basic helix obvious;
pitch of basic helix 2.3 nm.
Cytopathology
Virions found in leaves and mesophyll; in
cytoplasm. Inclusions present in infected cells; are viroplasms.
