in Vicia faba; from Michigan, U.S.A; by Thottappilly et al.
(1975).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Vicia faba
- chlorosis, necrosis, leaf malformation.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Acyrthosiphon pisum; Aphididae. Transmitted in a non-persistent
manner. Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical
distribution
Spreads in the USA (Michigan).
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Pisum sativum cv. Midfreezer - systemic chlorosis,
mosaic; then necrosis and plant dies.

Particle morphology
Virions filamentous; not enveloped;
usually flexuous; with a clear modal length; of 650-1640 nm (2 major peaks
650-820 and 1360-1640 nm : 4 minor peaks 2180-2450, 2970-3180, 3650-3850 and
4500-4700 nm); 14 nm wide.
