Nomenclature
Acronym
ICTV decimal code
Host range and symptoms
First reported
in Eucharis grandiflora; from Japan; by Terami et al. (1993).
Natural host range and symptoms
Eucharis
grandiflora - leaf mosaic.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Myzus
persicae; Aphididae. Transmitted in a non-persistent manner. Virus lost
by the vector when it moults; transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Geographical distribution
Geographical distribution probably
restricted. Spreads in the Eastern Asian region; Japan.
Experimental host range
Few (<3) families susceptible.
Experimentally infected plants mostly show mosaic.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Chenopodium amaranticolor, C. quinoa - necrotic local lesions, not
systemic.
- Nicotiana benthamiana - systemic leaf mosaic.
Maintenance and propagation hosts
Assay hosts (Local lesions or
Whole plants)
Chenopodium amaranticolor
(L), C. quinoa (L).
Susceptible host species
Families containing susceptible hosts
Purification method
